Scottish Distributed Digital Library (SDDL)
About the SDDL
The Scottish Distributed Digital Library (SDDL) aims to be a 'coherent digital learning, information and research landscape for all Scots, collaboratively built and maintained via an agreed nation-wide, standards based, globally interoperable, cooperative infrastructure’.
The SDDL is a series of search tools that allow users to identify digital resources that are either created in Scotland or have a Scottish focus. The service seeks to cover the digital creations of the Scottish Museum, Library and Archive sector, but also attempts to identify significant content created by other bodies and individuals.
The SDDL builds on existing systems that also contain information about physical collections and items located in Scotland. In the SDDL the user is presented with a portal view of these services that show only digital resources
