Event description

Information for Scotland will seek to derive a common understanding of what we want to achieve for users and what needs to be done, particularly in terms of national information policy, in order to deliver what is required. Some of the issues to be considered are:

The conference will begin by setting the scene - examining developments in Europe, the needs of citizens for information and the demands of cultural entitlement. A review of the issues that need to be addressed by decision-makers to allow us to move forward for Scotland follows. Finally, there will be an opportunity to explore the issues in more detail in breakout groups, stimulating ideas for the wrap up discussion. The desired outcome of the conference is a road map for supporting the common information environment concept and taking developments forward across the various sectors.
